School Counseling

The MMS school counseling department is based on the belief that each student is important and unique.  Our focus is to support the development of all students in self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, social awareness, and relationship skills.  The development of these critical school and life skills will cultivate a respectful environment that supports our students in their journey to becoming productive, ethical, responsible global citizens. A comprehensive school counseling program at MMS addresses the needs of all students focusing on domains of student development:

  • Academic
  • Personal
  • Social/ Emotional
  • Middle School Transition

Throughout the year the counseling staff will meet students: individually, in the classroom environment, and in small group settings for academic success, social/ emotional wellness and to help guide students for life during and after middle school. When immediate needs and concerns arise, we provide responsive services through counseling, consulting, and referral.
